Teanaway!
« on: June 09, 2012, 10:42:07 AM »
One of 8 selected for late archery Teanaway bull tag  :IBCOOL:  :IBCOOL:! Hunted this area once in the past but looking to get my first bull! Anyone know anything about this unit? Saw some post on here last year and looks like the guys did good! Time to get the scouting gear out and getting to know some people :)

yep great unit if you do your homework.  i.e. lots of miles on the boots, start trying to get permission from land owners now.  The bulls are pretty concentrated that time of year. good luck

Hunted that area for awhile, Ive seen more elk off the north fork area than west fork which is pretty tight forest anyway... :twocents:

Now you also have the wolves to compete with. There weren't many elk around last year.  shed hunting was really bleak. saw lots of wolf track though

Saw a pack of 4-5 wolves during my muzzy bull hunt last year. Wolf tracks everywhere. Pray for snow and an early winter to move the bulls down, otherwise get a snowmobile and some good boots. I know for sure that 4 out of the 6 muzzy tags went unfilled last year.

That's makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about having that permit this year.

I agree with what has been said above. I am very familiar with the area and there are elk to be found but it has been getting tougher every year and they have been getting smarter about moving to private land when pressured. As your tag gets closer, feel free to hit me up and let me know what you have been seeing, weather conditions etc and I will see if I can give you a few places to check out based on the info. Good luck!

I drew the late muzzleloader bull tag there this year. Excited to do some elk hunting!
